Style statements

ånge¬a says: (8:30:14 PM)
Come up with a style statement for yourself!

ånge¬a says: (8:30:20 PM)
I've almost got one...

ånge¬a says: (8:30:30 PM)
instead of spending $500 I'm giving myself one.

I AM HERE says: (8:31:11 PM)
nice

ånge¬a says: (8:31:19 PM)
you need to too.

I AM HERE says: (8:31:20 PM)
I don't particularly have time or inspiration at this juncture

ånge¬a says: (8:31:22 PM)
Everyone does.

ånge¬a says: (8:31:23 PM)
Yes.

I AM HERE says: (8:31:25 PM)
but perhaps when I am in Vancouver

ånge¬a says: (8:31:32 PM)
Just think about it in the back of your head.

I AM HERE says: (8:31:33 PM)
I'm teeling you...the fashion here is abysmal

ånge¬a says: (8:31:45 PM)
Two words to define everything that you love.

I AM HERE says: (8:31:48 PM)
you don't want me coming up with a style statement...something eastern will filter in if I do it here

I AM HERE says: (8:31:51 PM)
classy black

ånge¬a says: (8:32:03 PM)
hahahahno.

ånge¬a says: (8:32:05 PM)
no black.

ånge¬a says: (8:32:10 PM)
classic....

ånge¬a says: (8:32:12 PM)
what?

I AM HERE says: (8:32:23 PM)
what wht?

ånge¬a says: (8:32:30 PM)
a second word.

ånge¬a says: (8:32:33 PM)
Classic works.

I AM HERE says: (8:32:50 PM)
unique

ånge¬a says: (8:33:35 PM)
mm, everyone's unique, but a synonym thereof...

ånge¬a says: (8:34:24 PM)
I'm something like easy modern, or relaxed modern, or urbane modern, hahaha.

ånge¬a says: (8:34:27 PM)
or something like that.

I AM HERE says: (8:34:35 PM)
classic paradox

I AM HERE says: (8:34:43 PM)
but I want modern too

ånge¬a says: (8:34:45 PM)
hahaha.

ånge¬a says: (8:34:49 PM)
then you can have it

I AM HERE says: (8:34:57 PM)
but then i'm classic modern

ånge¬a says: (8:35:03 PM)
nope.

ånge¬a says: (8:35:07 PM)
that doesn't sum you up.

ånge¬a says: (8:35:21 PM)
hahahaha.

I AM HERE says: (8:36:02 PM)
exaclty

ånge¬a says: (8:36:19 PM)
whimsical modern? not quite.

ånge¬a says: (8:36:27 PM)
rogue modern.

I AM HERE says: (8:36:49 PM)
hahah

I AM HERE says: (8:37:33 PM)
ok, that oen works

ånge¬a says: (8:37:52 PM)
it has to hit you as being totally true...

ånge¬a says: (8:38:26 PM)
fanciful... no.

I AM HERE says: (8:38:31 PM)
modern disshevelled?

ånge¬a says: (8:38:40 PM)
hahahahahahahaha. no

ånge¬a says: (8:38:47 PM)
a good word, not dishevelled.

I AM HERE says: (8:39:23 PM)
I have no idea...

I AM HERE says: (8:39:30 PM)
deconstructed?

ånge¬a says: (8:39:42 PM)
comic means 'intended to be funny' while comical is 'funny unintentionally'

ånge¬a says: (8:39:46 PM)
Did you know that?

I AM HERE says: (8:39:50 PM)
no I did not

ånge¬a says: (8:40:27 PM)
modern quixotic

I AM HERE says: (8:41:09 PM)
quixotic?? jesus no

ånge¬a says: (8:41:15 PM)
hahaha.

I AM HERE says: (8:41:17 PM)
demure?

I AM HERE says: (8:42:52 PM)
i don't know

ånge¬a says: (8:42:59 PM)
no

ånge¬a says: (8:43:07 PM)
modern damsel

ånge¬a says: (8:43:09 PM)
no

I AM HERE says: (8:43:17 PM)
no way...too feminine

ånge¬a says: (8:43:24 PM)
so is demure.

I AM HERE says: (8:43:29 PM)
no it isn't

I AM HERE says: (8:43:34 PM)
I'm not flouncy or whatever.

ånge¬a says: (8:43:39 PM)
you're not demure.

ånge¬a says: (8:43:44 PM)
ha.

I AM HERE says: (8:43:55 PM)
what about deconstructed classic?

ånge¬a says: (8:44:12 PM)
nope.

I AM HERE says: (8:44:34 PM)
why not?> this is my style profile!

I AM HERE says: (8:44:35 PM)
hah

ånge¬a says: (8:44:49 PM)
you're not particularly deconstructed.

I AM HERE says: (8:44:57 PM)
I am not, but the classic part is

ånge¬a says: (8:45:06 PM)
hahaha.

ånge¬a says: (8:45:13 PM)
both words need to be you.

I AM HERE says: (8:45:40 PM)
ok....

I AM HERE says: (8:45:44 PM)
charming

I AM HERE says: (8:45:45 PM)
hah

I AM HERE says: (8:45:49 PM)
charming modern

ånge¬a says: (8:45:53 PM)
ooh, charming modern.

ånge¬a says: (8:45:54 PM)
totally.

ånge¬a says: (8:46:16 PM)
I want to be charming modern.... haha. No, I'm okay with relaxed modern.... I can't decide what word is best.

I AM HERE says: (8:46:17 PM)
dylan says charming pastiche

I AM HERE says: (8:46:29 PM)
hahahah...you are so funny

ånge¬a says: (8:46:47 PM)
charming post-modern, then?

I AM HERE says: (8:47:09 PM)
maybe...am I really modern though?

ånge¬a says: (8:47:21 PM)
I don't know. it's up to you.

I AM HERE says: (8:47:28 PM)
I don't know...

I AM HERE says: (8:47:34 PM)
what do these signifiers mean anyway?

I AM HERE says: (8:47:39 PM)
god, I have been reading too much barthes

ånge¬a says: (8:47:56 PM)
It's something to keep in mind when you need to make a decision.

I AM HERE says: (8:48:05 PM)
weren't you parisian chic?

ånge¬a says: (8:48:15 PM)
that falls into easy modern.

ånge¬a says: (8:48:20 PM)
and I decided this is more true.

I AM HERE says: (8:48:29 PM)
Ok, I'm going with charming contemporary

I AM HERE says: (8:48:30 PM)
hah

ånge¬a says: (8:48:37 PM)
certain aspects of parisian chic fall into easy modern, but not the ones I don't like. haha.

ånge¬a says: (8:48:42 PM)
ooh, contemporary is good,

ånge¬a says: (8:48:54 PM)
I think I like modern, but without the hardness, hence the easy.

I AM HERE says: (8:48:59 PM)
yeah, dylan came up with that

I AM HERE says: (8:49:14 PM)
ok, but contemporary could be the modern without the hardness...then you have room for another adjective

ånge¬a says: (8:49:33 PM)
mmm.... maybe,,,,

ånge¬a says: (8:49:50 PM)
moderate modern would just be funny.

I AM HERE says: (8:50:03 PM)
hahaha. it's ike a political category or something

ånge¬a says: (8:50:10 PM)
totally.

I AM HERE says: (8:50:32 PM)
but see,I think i need some classic in there

I AM HERE says: (8:50:39 PM)
nostalgic contemporary?

ånge¬a says: (8:50:52 PM)
classic nostalgic?

I AM HERE says: (8:51:03 PM)
that's too much past

ånge¬a says: (8:51:30 PM)
classic charming?

I AM HERE says: (8:51:32 PM)
need some forward looking

ånge¬a says: (8:51:35 PM)
haha.

I AM HERE says: (8:51:39 PM)
no, too cutesey or something

ånge¬a says: (8:51:43 PM)
futuristic charming.

I AM HERE says: (8:51:49 PM)
charming nostalgo-modern

ånge¬a says: (8:51:57 PM)
hahahaha.

ånge¬a says: (8:52:11 PM)
current charming?

I AM HERE says: (8:52:19 PM)
sounds like zellers

I AM HERE says: (8:52:31 PM)
teen currents or something

ånge¬a says: (8:52:48 PM)
haha

I AM HERE says: (8:52:58 PM)
I don't know...this is difficult

I AM HERE says: (8:53:03 PM)
we should post this convo on your blog. hah

ånge¬a says: (8:53:08 PM)
antiquated modern.

ånge¬a says: (8:53:12 PM)
Okay.... ha.

I AM HERE says: (8:53:16 PM)
antiquated?

ånge¬a says: (8:53:18 PM)
yeah.

I AM HERE says: (8:53:28 PM)
ehhh...sounds liek archeology

ånge¬a says: (8:53:38 PM)
charming vogue. no.

I AM HERE says: (8:53:57 PM)
ehhh...

Blog

Hmmm. I don't feel much like blogging, but I have to do something.

Only 6:43 on a Saturday night. I need food, but I made a no take-out rule. Argh. No restaurants. Actually, my wallet made said rule.

Alexandra, move home. Sorry, sorry, I know................

Okay, what to do. I need TV. We have to get cable. Sadly.

That's all for now. I know.

It's been so long...

I forgot my user name. I hate when that happens. Luckily I'm not that original most of the time, so I figured it out.

Sitting in my new bedroom, how weird is that. It's tinily small. Alexandra, why are you not on msn more often? I need to discuss this with you.

Anyhow, lots to do. Lots of things to unpack and nowhere to put them. Stellar. Don't know what to say.

La la la.

Feelin' groovy

I just feel like listening to sweet pop music and singing along, maybe while in the passenger seat of a convertible that's driving along the highway, with blue and white skies.

Man, the power of good coffee. Seriously, I don't know what this stuff is, but it tastes so good, and after drinking it for a few minutes I'm suddenly manic, can't write or talk fast enough, or even just enough.

Suddenly, after being in Kelowna for two weeks (not even, a week and two days, I guess) I suddenly don't find myself so drawn to moving to a cabin on the west coast of BC. I miss my city. Perhaps if I had been living in a house on a ridge overlooking moving living water for the past two weeks it would be another story, because even just driving past it, standing in someone else's big windowed house for five minutes, is incredibly restorative. Maybe we can go live in Kyle's friend Derrek's vinyard. That would be nice, it's right by the lake, I think.

Also thinking about Grad school, ha. Not even handed in my final (quite late) paper, and I want more. I thought I was done. Feeling not yet ground down by life. That's what happens when you take three weeks off to regain your sanity, and spend your time reading and watching videos. Speaking of which, read "The Lovely Bones", by Alice Sebold. She went to grad school in California, will look into that school now. But yes, it is about a fourteen year old girl who is raped and murdered, but aside from that, is quite warm and nice and easy to read, but still beautifully written, good characters. I hadn't read a good novel in a while. Still have to start Anna Karenina. But yes.

Coffee. Sweet. Paint remover, as Fred called it when he came in. Mmmmmmm.

Not Oz...

So, instead of seeing the wizard, here I am in Oz. Wait, I mean Kelowna. Koz. We had delicious soup with delicious homemade scones with (I think) nuts in them and also delicious cheese. Now we are off to the mermaid house where I will get dessert. I'm really glad to be out of Vancouver for a little while. Kyle seems lethargic. He says mmmhmmm over and over again. mmmmmhmmmmm. So that's where I am. Looking forward to watching Angels in America.

Angela in canada.

The Wizard

I feel like Dorothy in the field of poppies, wanting to fall asleep forever. That same heaviness of eyelids, of everything.

To blonde or not to blonde

That is the question. I like being blonde for the summer. But Alex says she likes it better brown. All I know for certain is that it needs to be cut, to the extent that I'm almost considering doing it myself. Almost, but not quite.

Yes, Alexandra. This is what I do instead of go to parties. I wonder about my hair and get really tired at nine pm. And crave cake. Enough with the cake. bring on the gym. Even my horoscope says so. Something about working out, can't find it online. .......cake..........

First blog

So, this is an excellent procrastination tool.

I find I respect people with actual blogger blogs more than those with those fancy newfangled livejournal ones. These are simple and basic and classy, just like fresh cotton shirts.

I should be writing a paper, or at least researching it and taking notes. Or, you know, studying for my exam. Instead I am entering into my realm of self-aggrandizing biographical writing. Fun.

April Wine is on the itunes. I want an ipod. I want I want I want. Earrings. Dresses. Personal music players. Jeans. T-shirts. CDs. Tickets to the opera and plays. This rampant consumerist bourgeois attitude... is something I accept at the moment. I guess acceptance is better than denial.
